I didn't want to keep buying USB enclosures for drives I swapped out of older machines and storage devices. I wanted a way to move data back and forth between all my drives and this dock fits the bill very nicely.

It's stable and simple. It does what it advertises and doesn't pretend to be anything else. You can dock a total of 2 drives in here, configured to appear as 2 separate drives (JBOD) or 1 concatenated drive (BIG). The jumpers on the back allow you to change the setting. I've used it on both and it works as expected.

For JBOD: jumper 1 OFF, jumper 2 ON.
For BIG: jumper 1 ON, jumper 2 OFF.

One gripe is that the jumpers are tiny and difficult to push. Another issue is that there is wiggle room when the drives are inserted, so I would not use this dock as a long-term external drive solution. If you're going to be doing that, I suggest getting a proper enclosure, which will keep your drive safer and secured in place with screws. I only use this to transfer data between bare drives or moving data off to do drive swaps. Then the drives get disconnected and put back in the anti-static bags for storage.

For such purposes, this drive comes in very handy. If you have a lot of bare drives sitting around, this is one great way to manage data transfers between them.
