Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)This enclosure works fine--which is to say, it does what it's supposed to do.However, it has a few gotchas.
First: the case, and the Amazon listing, say it's USB-powered.Yes, it is, but it requires *two* USB ports; that should have been made clear.(This is apparently not uncommon for 2.5" enclosures; I guess 2.5" drives require more than the half a watt they can count on from a USB port.)
Second: the case comes with two screws to hold the enclosure shut. Two *tiny* screws, which don't quite fit straight.I struggled with them for something like ten minutes before I got them seated well enough. Some sort of snap would've been better.
Third: there is *no* documentation.Documentation would have made it clear, for example, whether or not I could just skip the screws (things were pretty tightly seated without them). And, if you aren't comfortable dealing with IDE connectors (it's not necessarily obvious which way is up), the lack of documentation could be a problem for you.
So, three stars, because it works fine, but there wasn't a lot of thought put into the fine details.
